Yes, they are the same. They amplify the signal from the cartridge, you can select the charge for your type of cartridge to (moving magnet, moving coil) and Re-Match (RIAA), the log output.
The key is to use select the appropriate settings for the type of cartridge, it has nothing to do with the kind of justice.
